¶ Manage Roles
On this page, the Platform admin can create Roles and Manage Roles by adding user groups and users to roles. Roles bring together Users, User groups, and their Access rights. Through RBAC(Role Base Access Control), it is possible to show the same user certain content and functionality at a certain time and not show others.
The list view of the Manage Roles page will be displayed in the below image.
The Manage roles list comprises Role name, Group/Users, Privilege Sets, Created on, and Last Modified Fields.
- Role name - This field shows the name of the role.
- Group - This field shows the groups which are linked to the Roles
- Use in application - This field shows the applications which are assigned to the Roles.
- Creation date - This field shows the date and time of the Role created.
- Modified date - This field shows the last modification date and time of the Role.
¶ Creation of New Role
- A New Role can be created by clicking on the “New Role” button, and the user will land on the new role creation page as shown in the below image
- On this page, the Admin user has different tabs to Link groups (Image1), and also, access rights can be assigned to a role in the access rights section(Image2)
Every Role present on the Manage role overview screen has a kebab menu that includes below options:
1.Details
It displays the details of the role which consists of General information, Linked groups, Linked Users, Access rights, and Setting tabs.

General information -
This page shows the information of the role which contains Name, Description, Created date, Created by, Modify by, and Modified date fields. Admin can edit general information by clicking the edit button. -
Linked groups
This page shows all linked group/groups to that role. Admin can link new group by clicking on Link group button. In the kabab menu of the linked group admin will get Open in side panel and Unlink group options. Admin can unlink any group by clicking the Unlink group option.
- Linked Users
This page shows a list of all users that are present in the linked group/groups.
- Access rights
This page shows a list of collections to which the role is attached. Here admin can also see the rights of that role for collection. admin can change the right for any collection by clicking on the edit button
Here admin can see three types of rights No rights set, Allowed, and Not Allowed, The admin can select any right from the list. Admin can also link collection by clicking on the Link collection option.

2.Delete
Clicking on this Kebab menu option, If role is attached to a group/groups Information popup is shown that Role is used by the system and button “I Understand”
If the role is not attached to any group then the information popup shows that Are you sure?? message with two options NO, I’m not and Yes, I’m sure button
Sort
A Sort icon is present against RoleName, CreatedOn, and LastModified fields which allows a user to sort and display the data in either ascending or descending or in a default order.
Total
Total Field shows the number of roles available on the manage roles overview page.
Search
Search Field is available to search any particular role on the overview page.
